Cairo, Dec 16: Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, currently serving life imprisonment after being convicted of ordering the killing of protestors, injured his head when he slipped in a bathroom at the prison hospital, state media reported.
A security source at the prison department told MENA news agency that the 84-year-old Mubarak was injured in his head Saturday in the accident at the Tora prison in Cairo.
Medical tests showed the former president also suffered some bruises in the chest, but without any fracture.
Mubarak is serving a life sentence for his role in the killing of pro-reform demonstrators during the unrest last year that finally led to his ouster after a three-decade rule in February 2011.
