The Thinker
A bronze sculpture, the Thinker is usually placed on a stone pedestal. The magnificent statue was designed by Auguste Rodin.
Auguste Rodin first conceived the figure in 1880 as a small plaster version, while its bronze casting was made in around 1902, but was not presented to the public until 1904.
The sculpture of Thinker shows a nude male figure of over life-size sitting on a rock with his chin resting on one hand as though deep in thought.
The statue of Thinker is often used to represent Philosophy.
Although there are about 28 full size castings, but not all were made during Rodin's lifetime.
