The Great Sphinx of Giza
Located at the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Egypt, the Great Sphinx of Giza, is a limestone statue a mythical creature featuring a lion's body and a human head.
It is believed that the human face of the Sphinx represents the face of the Pharaoh Khafra.
Known as the oldest sculpture of the world, the Great Sphinx of Giza is also the largest monolith statue in the world with a length of 241 ft and width of 63 ft.
It is said that the Sphinx was built by ancient Egyptians during the reign of the Pharaoh Khafra in approximately 2500 BC.
