The Tomb of Cyrus, Persia
Located in Iran, the Tomb of Cyrus is the place where Cyrus the Great has been buried.
Cyrus the Great was the founder and ruler of the vast Persian Empire in the 6th century BC.
The tomb comprises of six broad steps leading to the edifice of the King.
The Cyrus' tomb was designed by Mesopotamian or Elamite ziggurats.
The tomb is located at the Pasargadae World Heritage Site.
Although there are no strong evidence to ensure that it is the tomb of Cyrus, but according to the Greek historians Alexander the Great believed that it was the tomb of Cyrus.
Alexander also paid a visit to the tomb after he looted and destroyed Persepolis
