London: Leading NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul today complimented Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the inaugural International Day of Yoga a success.
"I would like to compliment Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the International Yoga Day a success. It is a great achievement and it makes all of us proud. The success was possible because of the great leadership of Modi.
"It makes us proud of our Prime Minister and the country that today Yoga was practised in 192 countries in the world," Paul said in a statement.
Today, thousands of yoga enthusiasts across the world participated in the event as they marked the inaugural International Day of Yoga, celebrating the ancient Indian spiritual practice.
In the UK, hundreds gathered across cities to celebrate the day with the main event on the bank of the river Thames in London.
June 21 was declared as the International Day of Yoga by the UN in December last year after Modi proposed the idea during his first address to the UN General Assembly in September.
