London, Jan 28 : London School of Economics SU will celebrate India Week from January 29 till February 3 in a series of events including panel discussions, debates and cultural activities.




The week will begin with a cultural showcase on Houghton Street, the heart of LSE.

Traditional stalls with famous Indian handiwork, traditional dances and an authentic Delhi's auto rickshaw will be amongst the many attractions aiming to promote India's vibrant culture to the public.

The formal inauguration will be on Tuesday with an Economic Panel discussion on the current state of the Indian economy.

The panel will consist of Lord Raj Loomba, Lord Meghnad Desai, Human Resource Development Minister  Pallam Raju  and eminent LSE Professors among others.

On Jan 30, the Pro-Director of LSE, Professor Stuart Corbridge will chair the event entitled ‘The Power of Ideas'. Author Prajwal Parajuly will be signing copies of his books at the event and  Gulab Kothari, CEO of Patrika group  will talk about Empowerment of Youth and challenges of 21st Century: an Indian perspective.

On  Jan 31,  the Indo European Business Forum (IEBF), consisting of  CEOs will discuss the improving relations between India and Europe in the Business world.

On  Feb 3, Lords Cricket Ground will host one of the finest university cricket matches – between the LSE SU's India and Pakistan cricket teams. The week concludes with a Bollywood Night, featuring a performance by award winning British Asian artist, H.Dhami.
