1. India and Pakistan India-Pakistan border demarcates India and Pakistan, the total length being 1,800 miles. The border was created in 1947 post partition of the two countries in which a million people were killed. The border runs along the ceasefire line called Line of Control.
The LoC separates the Indian Jammu Kashmir and Pak Occupied Kashmir in the north, to Wagah line, which partitions the Indian Punjab state and Punjab Province of Pakistan, in the east.
The Zero Point separates the Indian states of Gujarat and Rajasthan from Sindh province of Pakistan, in the south.
The Kashmir issue remains a major reason for the border being the most dangerous.
India and Pakistan have fought wars in 1965, 1971, 1999. Thousands of soldiers were killed in these deadly wars, and there have been a number of ceasefire violations too.
Pakistan had violated ceasefire 96 times in 2013 so far, the highest in 8 years according to MoD figures.
