New Delhi: Fourteen people died in a stampede at a mosque in northern China, according to state media.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the mosque in Guyuan, a city in the Ningxia region, the Xinhua news agency said.
People at the mosque had been handing out traditional cakes during an event to commemorate a religious figure, Xinhua said.
Another 10 people were reportedly hospitalised, with four of them in critical condition.
Ningxia is the home of China's Muslim Hui ethnic minority.
