2. Kiryat HaYovel supermarket bombingOn March 29, 2002, an 18 year old girl named Ayat al-Akhras blew herself up in the main supermarket of Jerusalem, Kiryat HaYovel.
Two Isreali civilians were killed. The bombings gained widespread attention due to the fact that the bomber was a female and very young.
Hamas, a Palestinian Islamist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
The girl was going to get married in 2002 and was an ace student until she went into the hands of the group.
3. Rajiv Gandhi assassinationThenmozhi Rajaratnam, also known as Dhanu was the assassin who killed Rajiv Gandhi and 14 others in a suicide attack on May 21, 1991.
She was the first ever human bomb in the country's history.
Dhanu, 24 was inspired by the LTTE movement.
Dhanu, who studied till middle school in Batticaloa, was inspired by the Tamil liberation movement at a very young age.
In fact, her father, A. Rajaratnam, who is described as Pirabhakaran's mentor, played a crucial role in moulding the LTTE chiefs thinking during the movement's formative years between 1972 and 1975.
