Snowden later disheartened by Obama following the policies of his predecessor. In 2012, he supported campaign of Ron Paul. In June 2013, Snowden done what he decided in 2008. He leaked top details of top-secret American and Britishgovernment mass surveillance programs to the press.After watching the report on NSA whistleblower 'William Binney' of Laura Poitras in January 2013, he contacted her.Being a board member of Freedom of the Press Foundation with Glenn Greenwald, reporting for The Guardian, she introduced them. According to Greenwald, He said he had been working with Snowden since February and Barton Gellman of The Washington Post stated that he was in touch with the whistleblower since 16th May 2013. after The Washington Post decline to publish snowden's leaks he contacted Greenwald.In his encrypted emails, Snowden used codename of "Verax", a latin word refers to the truth teller.Before the meeting with Gellman, Snowden wrote,""I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions, and that the return of this information to the public marks my end".
