Washington: A judge in the US state of Alabama has asked a federal jury to arrive at a decision on the case of police brutality on an Indian grandfather earlier this year that left him partially paralysed.
The judges' request to the 12-member jury, comprising nine woman, came after it came to the courtroom yesterday afternoon that they have been unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
The jury in Huntsville had earlier sought to watch the video of the assault, that left Sureshbhai Patel, 58, partially paralysed, during the re-trial of Eric Parker, the cop charged with use of excessive force.

“The judge issued a charge recommending they continue deliberations in good faith. She told the jury that no future jury would be better positioned to reach a verdict,” local News 19 TV said.
