New Delhi: The Great Wall of China is the only man-made structure visible from the International Space Station that orbits the Earth.
The 6000 kilometre long Great Wall of China was originally built over 2000 years ago, around 221 BC.This is the longest man made structure on this earth.
It was ordered by Emperor Qin . The wall was constructed by labourers comprising soldiers, common people and criminals. It is believed the original Great Wall was built over a period of approximately 20 years and up to 1 million people died while constructing the Great Wall.
