New Delhi: An Indian construction worker fell to his death while working on the eighth floor of a building under construction in Al Mamzar area next to Sharjah Islamic Bank.
The accident took place on Sunday afternoon at around 2:30 pm and the engineers notified the police about the accident.
A team of police officers moved on the scene to investigate and find the reasons behind the fall, a police spokesman said.
Police also got orders from the public prosecutor to carry the body to the emirates forensic laboratory for investigations.
Police are urging the engineers and construction workers to ensure that all safety procedures are in place at their work sites in order to avoid similar accidents.
Lapses in the safety regulations is a major offence and punishable by the emirates laws, a police spokesman said.
