Colombo: India today assured Sri Lanka that it remains committed to assist Colombo in its post-conflict rehabilitation and reconciliation process.
“As Sri Lanka strives towards a peaceful future, the government and the people of India remain committed to assist Sri Lanka in its endeavours of rehabilitation, reconstruction and reconciliation,” Indian High Commissioner to Lanka YK Sinha said at a ceremony here.
The ceremony marked the release of a brochure titled “India and Sri Lanka: A partnership that transcends time” and was attended by stakeholders involved in the Indian development projects in Sri Lanka, a statement by the High Commission said.
India's current development projects portfolio in Sri Lanka exceeds USD 1.3 billion, the High Commission said.
India has been a major contributor in development projects in Sri Lanka, which is undertaking reconciliation and rehabilitation process after a nearly three-decade conflict with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
