New Delhi: A new study reveals that divorced couples in Pakistan speak around 18,000 words about the divorce of cricketer turned politician Imran Khan's with his wife Reham Khan.
How much this high profile break up has affected Pakistani citizens is evident from a study. It says that divorced couples in Pakistan do not discuss their failed marriage as they do Imran and Reham's.
The lead author of the study, Parveen Shahkeen conducted a survey of 500 couples across Pakistan to obtain the result. “Our results showed a surprising trend. The couples we surveyed clearly stated they had talked about the Khans' breakup more than their own divorces,” she said.

The study was started to understand the time it takes for divorces to be finalised in Pakistan. During the study, the researchers came across something surprising, something they termed as ‘Khan effect.'
“On average, a divorced couple will speak roughly 18,000 words a day about the Imran-Reham divorce,” Parveen added. The team is now planning to study the extent in which the divorced couples discuss about Imran-Reham's divorce which happened only after 10 months of their marriage.
In due course of the study, it was also learnt that 80% of respondents implied that they were very concerned since it was Reham's evil intention which ended the unison. A senior journalist Arif Nizami alleged on TV that Reham was trying to poison Imran to get hold of his political empire.
