Rio Grande do Norte, July 9 : An 11-year-old boy in Brazil is drawing attention with a purported ability to attract metal objects to his body.
Paulo David Amorim, from the small town of Mossoro, in northeastern Brazil's Rio Grande do Norte state, seems to have some kind of attraction to metal objects, according to Brazil's TV Globo.Amorim's abdomen, chest and back allow objects like spoons, scissors and cameras to stay stuck to his body, according to footage aired on TV Globo.
During an interview with TV Globo the boy's father, Junior Amorim, said he asked his son to bring him a knife and fork "and much to my surprise, they stuck."
Paulo David said classmates have started calling him 'Magnet Boy' and ask him to demonstrate his 'powers' with objects in class."In school, everyone asks me to put things on my body, they think it is a trick," Paulo David said.
Doctor Dix-Sept Rosado Sobrinho told TV Globo he had never seen anything like Paulo David's case in his thirty years in medicine. However, he said the boy's health is not at risk.
"We can see that there is a certain adhesiveness, that he does manage to make several objects stick to his body, some of which are pretty heavy, but it is not completely out of the ordinary."
According to the local newspaper "Diario de Natal," Junior Amorim said he is not concerned with his son's health at this point and will only consult a specialist if any changes occur. AP
