Islamabad, Aug 18: A US drone targeted a compound in the lawless North Waziristan tribal region of northwest Pakistan today, killing four persons and injuring two more.
The drone struck a compound in Shawal area of North Waziristan, which has witnessed several missile strikes in the past few months.
The CIA-operated spy plane fired two missiles at the compound.
Four persons were killed and two more injured in the strike, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt Gen Zahir-ul-Islam had raised Pakistan's demand for ending drone attacks during a recent visit to the US.
The Taliban recently banned polio vaccinations in North and South Waziristan, saying they would not be allowed as long as the US drone strikes continued.
