Lahore- Pakistan and India will have to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue as wars are no solution to any problem, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Sunday. Gilani made the remarks while interacting with a group of journalists here.
Pakistan believes in dialogue as there is no other way to deal with problems confronting the people of both countries, he said. "Issues are only resolved through dialogue (and) not by wars," he said, adding that India should realize this. Replying to a question, the Prime Minister said if anyone has credible information about the presence of Osama bin Laden or other Al Qaida leaders in Pakistan, they must provide it to the government so that it can take action.
Earlier, Pakistan used to be blamed for not taking action against the terrorist leaders but now it is always asking the US and other countries to give it the information so that action can be taken, he said. "The trust deficit between Pakistan and the US is reducing," he said. Gilani said he had telephoned former premier Nawaz Sharif to take him into confidence on the government's decision to give a three-year extension to army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani but Sharif was travelling when the call was made.
