New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was ‘deeply touched' by the warm welcome accorded to him in the US.
"A big thank you for the warm welcome in New York! Deeply touched. Looking forward to a great trip ahead," Modi said in a tweet.
Modi is on a five-day visit to the US. He arrived here on Friday where he was greeted by hundreds of people who were waiting for him at the Madison Avenue in New York, close to the hotel where he will be staying.
He met New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and US National Cancer Institute Director Harold Varmus.
The Indian Prime Minister will be addressing the UN General Assembly on Saturday.
