1,317 COVID-19 cases detected today out of 20,367 tests done in the last 24 hours in Assam. The total cases now stand at 76,875 including 53,286 recovered, 23,397 active cases and 189 deaths. 

546 new COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths reported in Jharkhand today. The total number of cases now at 23,224 including 14,747 recoveries and 244 deaths. 

1,317 new COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths reported in Rajasthan as of 8:30 PM today. The total number of cases now at 61,296 including 13,816 active cases, 46,604 recoveries, and 876 deaths. 

3,066 new COVID-19 positive cases, 2,935 discharges, and 51 deaths reported in West Bengal today. The total number of cases rise to 1,16,498 including 86,771 discharges, 27,299 active cases and 2,428 deaths. 

300 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Goa today, taking the total number of cases to 11,693 including 3,760 active cases, 7,775 recoveries and 104 deaths.

11,111 new COVID-19 positive cases, 8,837 discharges and 288 deaths reported in Maharashtra today. The total number of cases now at 5,95,865 including 1,58,395 active cases, 4,17,123 discharges and 20,037 deaths. 

235 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Uttarakhand today, taking the total number of cases to 12,175. The death toll is at 152. 

1,165 new COVID-19 positive cases, 41 deaths, and 568 discharges reported in Punjab today. The total number of cases now at 31,206 including 10,963 active cases, 19,431 discharges, and 812 deaths.

743 new COVID-19 cases, 662 recoveries, and 10 deaths reported in Haryana today. The total number of cases rises to 47,153 in the state, including 7,014 active cases, 39,601 recovered cases, and 538 deaths. 

1,010 new COVID-19 cases, 719 recovered cases and 47 deaths reported in Mumbai today. The total number of cases now at 1,28,726 including 1,03,468 recovered/discharged cases, 17,828 active cases and 7,130 deaths. 

6 new COVID-19 cases reported in Himachal Pradesh till 5 pm today, taking the total number of cases to 4,057. Total of 1,358 active cases, 2,640 recovered cases and 17 deaths have been reported in the state till date

Tamil Nadu today. The total number of cases rise to 3,38,055 including 54,019 active cases, 2,78,270 discharges and 5,766 deaths. 

Delhi reports 652 new COVID-19 positive cases, 1,310 discharges/recoveries and 8 deaths. Total number of cases now at 1,52,580 including 1,37,561

5 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Dharavi area of Mumbai today, taking the total number of cases to 2,668. 

449 new COVID-19 cases reported from Jammu and Kashmir today, 100 from Jammu division and 349 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of cases in the Union Territory to 28,470. The death toll rises to 542 after 15 deaths were reported today. 

1,530 new COVID-19 positive cases, 1099 recoveries, and 10 deaths reported in Kerala today. The number of active cases now at 15310, so far 28,878 patients have recovered.

The UK government is planning to replace Public Health England (PHE) with a new specialist pandemic response insititute based on a German model in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, according to a media report on Sunday.

UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock is expected to announce a merger of the pandemic response work of PHE, an executive agency sponsored by the government’s Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and the National Health Service (NHS) Test and Trace scheme to create the National Institute for Health Protection, the ‘Sunday Telegraph’ reported.

The institute will be modelled on Germany's Robert Koch Institute, which played a central role in the country's C-19 response, publishing daily situation reports that log new outbreaks, testing capacity and the current burden on the health system.

Forty higher secondary schools and 15 colleges in Meghalaya are set to benefit from the NCC expansion plan, covering 173 border and coastal districts of
the country, announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address, an official said on Sunday.

The expansion plan of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) will be implemented in the institutions, located across seven border districts of the northeastern state, he said.
