208 COVID-19 cases and 309 recoveries reported in Uttarakhand today. The total number of cases in the state is now at 8,008, including 4,847 recovered, 3,028 active cases and 95 deaths. 

7,760 COVID-19 cases, 12,326 discharged and 300 deaths reported in Maharashtra today. The total number of cases in the state is now at 4,57,956, including 1,42,151 active cases, 2,99,356 discharged and 16,142 deaths. 

2,752 COVID-19 cases, 2,066 discharged and 54 deaths reported in West Bengal today. The total number of cases in the state is now at 80,984, including 22,315 active cases, 56,884 discharged and 1,785 deaths.

709 COVID-19 cases, 873 recovered/discharged and 56 deaths reported in Mumbai today. The total number of cases in the city is now at 1,18,130, including 90,962 recovered/discharged, 20,326 active cases and 6,546 deaths. 

1,124 COVID-19 cases, 781 recovered and 13 deaths reported in Rajasthan today, as of 8:30 pm. The total number of cases in the state is now at 46,679, including 32,832 recovered, 13,115 active cases and 732 deaths. 

280 COVID-19 cases, 357 discharged and 8 deaths reported in Chhattisgarh today, as of 9 pm. The total number of cases in the state is now at 10,109, including 7,613 discharged, 2,427 active cases, and 69 deaths. 

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approves the appointment of Sashidhar Jagdishan as Managing Director and CEO of HDFC Bank. The appointment is for a period of 3 years beginning October 27, 2020, and is subject to the approval of the Bank's board and shareholders.

390 COVID-19 cases, 824 recovered and 10 deaths reported in Jammu and Kashmir today. The total number of cases in the Union Territory is now at 22,396, including 7,123 active cases, 14,856 recovered, and 417 deaths. 

5,063 COVID-19 cases, 6,501 discharged and 108 deaths reported in Tamil Nadu today. The total number of cases in the state is now at 2,68,285, including 2,08,784 discharged, 55,152 active cases, and 4,349 deaths. 

Delhi reported 674 COVID-19 cases, 972 recovered/discharged/migrated cases and 12 deaths today. The total positive cases here rises to 1,39,156 including 1,25,226 recovered/discharged/migrated cases and 4,033 deaths. 

Union Health Ministry officials on Tuesday addresses the media over COVID-19 situation in the country. Here are some highlights:

• More than 2 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted, including more than 6.6 lakh tests in the last 24 hours. Recovered cases are now double the active cases. The case fatality rate is lowest since the first lockdown.
• This is the first time after the first lockdown that the fatality rate is at the lowest, at 2.10%. The fatality rate has seen a progressive decline and it is continuing, which is a good sign.
• Many states have increased their testing capacity, both RT - PCR & Rapid Antigen tests. 28 states & union territories performing more than 140 tests per day per million population. Goa, Delhi, Tripura, and Tamil Nadu have increased their testing capacity.
• Currently, 5,86,298 active COVID-19 cases are in India and over 12 lakh people have recovered. 50% deaths due to COVID-19 have taken place among the age group of 60 yrs or above and 37% deaths took place in the age group between 45 to 60 yrs.
• Oxford vaccine, being manufactured by Serum Institute of India got approval for phase 2 and 3 clinical trials, which are starting within a week at 17 sites.
• The cumulative positivity of India is 8.89%. States with positivity less than 10% are Punjab, Rajasthan, MP, UP, Haryana, Assam, West Bengal, and Karnataka. Last week's positivity of India was 11% which means a few states are showing rise in COVID-19 cases.

• In 2019, the Indian ventilator market was roughly estimated as 8,510 units valued at Rs 444.74 Crore. Because of COVID-19, in March domestic manufacturers imported various components. It wouldn't have been possible to make ventilators without import then.

• Share of 'Make in India' ventilators, in 60,000 ventilators which we'll get, is 96% by volume and over 90% by value. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Andhra Med-Tech Zone (AMTZ) played major role. BEL giving 30,000 and AMTZ giving 13,500 ventilators.

• At the present moment, we have 3 Indian vaccines which are in different phases of clinical testing. The 2 vaccines- Bharat Biotech vaccine & DNA vaccine of Zydus Cadila have completed phase 1 and will begin phase 2 while third is the Oxford vaccine.
