New Delhi: The Chinese government has promoted nine officers from senior colonels to major generals rank for their operational responsibility along the Sino-Indian border in the Lanzhou Military Region.
The announcement, which was made on January 12 this year, clearly signifies President Xi Jinping's control over the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
Also, the intrusions by Chinese troops in Depsang plains in April 2013, just ahead of Premier Li Keqiang's visit to India, and in the Chumar area of Ladakh in September last year during President Xi Jinping's stay in India, are enough to analyse China's ambitions and intentions.
Some observers sought to know that intrusion during Xi's three-day stay were whether solitary actions or that President's control over the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
Reports, however, clearly indicated that the actions were planned and deliberate in both cases.
The recently announcement of promotions further consolidate Xi's grip as Chairman of the Central Military Commission over the PLA.
