Yangon: Ceasefire talks between the Myanmar government and the ethnic armed groups that were originally scheduled to resume Wednesday have been put off again to an indefinite date, media reported Monday.

The resumed talks were planned to be held between the government's Union Peace Making Work Committee (UPWC) and the ethnic armed groups' National Ceasefire Coordination Team (NCCT), Xinhua reported quoting the Myanmar Peace Center (MPC).

MPC was established in Yangon, with European Union funding, to serve as a platform for dialogue.

Despite being informed by the UPWC, the NCCT responded by saying that they would have their own meeting in Thailand around the proposed date.
