Boston, Apr 18: Boston police today denied media reports that claimed a suspect in Marathon twin blasts has been arrested.
In a tweet, the Boston Police Department said, "Despite reports to the contrary there has not been an arrest in the Marathon attack."
"An arrest has been made in the Boston bombings investigation based on two videos showing images of the suspect," the CNN earlier quoted a law enforcement source as saying.
The suspect has been identified based on two surveillance videos obtained from the site of the blast. One of the video allegedly shows the individual placing the bomb in a trash bin, CNN had claimed.
The blasts at one of the most popular running events killed three persons and over injured 180.
As investigation into the blasts entered its third day, a piece of lid of one of the pressure cookers believed to have been used as the explosive device was found on a rooftop near the blast and is expected to provide vital clues to law enforcement agencies.
