A bomb alert was reported on a Ryanair flight from Poland to Greece on Sunday. Media reports cite that soon after the alert Greek warplanes scrambled to escort the flight. The flight, which took off from Katowice in Poland had over 190 people onboard.
The pilot of the Boeing 737 aircraft had alerted authorities over a possible bomb threat, as per reports.
Luckily, the flight landed at an isolated area at the Athens International Airport in Greece following a delay of nearly two-and-a-half hours. The passengers were then asked to disembark and their luggage was lined up outside the aircraft.
Later, the police said in a statement that a thorough check of the passengers and the aircraft did not reveal anything suspicious.

Earlier on Saturday, a Goa-bound chartered flight from Moscow with around 240 passengers on board was diverted to an airport in Uzbekistan. This was after the authorities at the Dabolim airport in Goa received an email, which claimed that there was a bomb on the plane. The flight, operated by Russian airline Azur Air, was scheduled to land at the Dabolim airport in South Goa at 4.15 am, according to a senior police official said.
However, after the bomb threat, all passengers onboard were evacuated safely and the plane was thoroughly checked by local authorities along with police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). Two teams of National Security Guard (NSG) intensively searched the plane and found nothing suspicious following which the flight was allowed to leave for Goa.
