New York: A group of over 100 Bohra Muslims were among the gathering of Indian-American diaspora to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Madison Square here today.
The representatives of the minority community, dressed in traditional white clothes and a skull cap, were among the various sections of the India American Society who have come from across the nation.
This is for the first time the event, which is being sponsored by various Indian-American associations, is organised by at such a large scale.
While, the organisers required USD1.5 million to organise the event, they raised nearly USD 2 million and the extra money will be donated to a charity, Bharat Barai, President of the Indian American community Foundation, said.
