Saint Basil's Cathedral, Russia
Located in Moscow, Russia Saint Basil's Cathedral is the famous landmark of the city.
Built from 1555–61, Saint Basil Cathedral was built by Ivan the Terrible in order to commemorate the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan.
Originally known as the Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed, Saint Basil's Cathedral is designed unlike the Russian architecture shaped as a flame of a bonfire rising into the sky.
It was also city's tallest building until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600.
Declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1990, the Cathedral is now a museum and is officially known as the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat.
