Baghdad, July 1: At least 14 people, including teenagers, were killed and 26 injured in separate attacks in Iraq Sunday, the interior ministry and police sources said.

Ten people were killed and 24 suffered injuries when an improvised explosive device went off near a football field in Baghdad's Nahrawan district, reported Xinhua  citing an interior ministry source who sought anonymity.

Many of the casualties were teenagers who had been playing football in the field, the source said.

Three people were killed and another was injured in separate attacks in Mosul, some 400 km from Baghdad, a local police source said.

In an incident, a man was killed and his brother injured when a roadside bomb targeting an army patrol exploded in Mosul's Algeria area, a police source said.

Unidentified gunmen stormed a power station in Mosul's al-Arbajiah area, killing one of the employees, while another armed attack on a checkpoint killed one soldier in the al-Najjar area of the city, he said.

In Hilla city, some 100 km south of Baghdad, a sticky bomb placed in a car exploded in the Jamiah district, killing the driver and wounding another person, a police source said.

No group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
