Asim Bajwa, Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has said that all communication channels between the Indian and Pakistani militaries are open in view of the existing tension between the two countries along LoC.
In an interview to Xinhua news agency, Bajwa claimed that the Director Generals of the Military Operations (DGMOs) from both sides have communicated after escalation in cross-border firing at the Line of Control (LoC).
"All communication channels including the hotline between the two militaries are open," he said.
Bajwa further said that Pakistan is in favour of having peaceful neighbourly relations with all countries in the region.
“That is the policy of the state of Pakistan and that is the policy of the political government and every element of power in the country follows the same policy, " he added.
Bajwa, however, refuted Indian claims of carrying out surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and said that India violated the ceasefire along the LoC on Sept 29 and later claimed to have conducted "surgical strikes" inside Pakistan.
"We did check everything on ground and we found the claim was absolutely false," he said.
Indian Army claims to have carried out ‘surgical strikes’ on terror launch pads based out of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on September 29.
The surgical strikes were carried out after 19 Indian soldiers lost their lives in Uri terror attacks. India has blamed Pakistan-backed terrorists for these attacks.
