Predicting an unspecified escalation between US and Iran, US President Donald Trump on Thursday said that Iran is feeling a lot of pain and as a result at some point it will call him up and say they are going to make a deal.
Speaking at the NATO allies summit in Brussels, President Trump said that US will consider making deal with Iran after it approches him with the proposition.
Trump had pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal on May 8 vowing to restore US economic sanctions on Tehran.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday called on American allies to help impose economic pressure on Iran, and accused Tehran of continuing to sell weapons in the Middle East despite United Nations resolutions.
"We must cut off all funding the regime uses to fund terrorism & proxy wars," Pompeo said in a Twitter post ahead of his scheduled meeting with European Union's foreign affairs and security policy representative Federica Mogherini in Brussels.
