Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday departed to South Korea for a two-day visit. On his second visit to the Republic of Korea and his second Summit meeting with President Moon, the prime minister is slated to meet business leaders and the Indian community. Before his departure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his visit to the Republic of Korea is reflective of the importance he and President Moon attach to their relationship.
"We regard the Republic of Korea as a valued friend with which we have a Special Strategic Partnership. The visit will boost bilateral cooperation," the prime minister said.
Modi took to Twitter and said, "As fellow democracies, India and ROK have shared values and a vision for world peace. As fellow market economies, our needs and strengths are complementary. ROK is an important partner for Make In India, Swachh Bharat and Start Up India initiatives."
"During our talks, President Moon and I will take forward our conversations from last year on how best to advance the India-ROK partnership. I will also meet business leaders, the Indian community as well as eminent persons from all walks of life," the prime minister said.
Prime Minister Modi further said, "We regard the Republic of Korea as a valued friend, a nation with which we have a Special Strategic Partnership."
"ROK is an important partner for our ‘Make in India’ initiative as well as in our ‘Start Up India’ and ‘Clean India’ initiatives," Modi said, adding "our collaboration in the field of science and technology is encouraging, with our joint research ranging from basic to advanced sciences."
