Sartaj Aziz, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs, today claimed that Pakistan is a major victim of terrorism including state sponsored acts of terrorism.
During his meeting with the visiting Executive Director of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTED) Jean-Paul Laborde, Sartaj Aziz recalled the geo-political developments that have led to the rise of terrorism in the region during last few decades.
According to Radio Pakistan, Sartaj Aziz reminded Jean-Paul Laborde that Pakistan was in the forefront of the international community's fight against terrorism
He also added that Pakistan's counter-terrorism is guided by the National Action Plan.
He later said that the tremendous sacrifices and efforts by Pakistan in the global counter-terrorism campaign were appreciated by the Executive Director of CTED.
