Jeddah: A man from Saudi Arabia divorced his wife minutes after their marriage after he found that she was chatting with her friends on her mobile phone.
As per reports, after the marriage ceremony in the city of Jeddah, the newly-wed couple reached the hotel room where the bride started exchanging messages with her friends and did not acknowledge her husband’s presence.
“Following the marriage ceremony, the groom took his bride to the hotel where they had booked a room. However, as soon as the bride was in the room, she kept using her mobile. Her groom tried to get closer with her and become more intimate, but he was shocked when she ignored him, not responding to his words and actions,” said a relative to Saudi daily Al Watan.
When the groom asked her as to who among the two was more important, she replied that her friends were important to her than him.
Enraged with her reply, the groom told the bride that he was divorcing her and left the hotel room in anger.
According to a Gulf News report, a divorce case has already been filed in the court, which has referred the case to a reconciliation committee. However, the groom, who is too hurt with her behaviour, has refused to withdraw the case.
