Rreports of an active shooter at Los Angeles International Airport turned out to be a hoax as Police confirmed that no gunman has been found and no shots were fired at the Airport
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) spokesman Andy Neiman said Sunday night that the reports were spurred by loud noises only, and police are still investigating to find the source of them.
Earlier, hundreds of passengers were evacuated amid reports of a potential shooting at Los Angeles International Airport.
Los Angeles International Airport was closed to incoming passengers and cars amid reports of an active shooter, according to the airport’s police force.
Local reports said that one person has been detained and large parts of the airport have been closed.
Social media posts appeared to show people on the tarmac.
Video posted by passengers at the airport showed dozens of people walking around outside the terminal, being asked by security personnel to move, on foot, away from the terminal.
