External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tore into Pakistan on Saturday, with point by point rebuttal on its several "untrue" claims of talks with India and human rights violations.

Swaraj was addressing the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The General Debate opened on Tuesday and will run till Monday. Swaraj, who addressed the UNGA session last year as well, reached New York last Saturday and participated in several bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA including the SAARC and BRICS.

The SAARC meet captured wider attention when Swaraj left the venue and did not wait for Pakistan's Foreign Minister Qureshi to present his statement. Qureshi slammed Swaraj's move stating that India is creating obstruction in regional cooperation.

During the BRICS meeting on Friday, Swaraj urged the members of the group to peak with a stronger voice and not be divided among themselves on the critical issue of achieving the long-pending UN Security Council reform.

Swaraj also urged that the BRICS nations must join hands to make United Nations' counter-terrorism mechanism efficient in listing terrorists and their outfits.
