President Donald Trump mocked FBI director James Comey today while revisiting his victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016 US presidential elections.
In a series of tweets, Trump mocked James Comey saying that he was the best thing to happen to Hillary during the election campaign saying he misguided her on many occasions.
"FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds! The phony Trump/Russia story was an excuse used by the Democrats as justification for losing the election. Perhaps Trump just ran a great campaign," Trump wrote in a series of messages.
Trump’s reaction came after Hillary on Tuesday blamed her presidential defeat on many things including Russian intervention via WikiLeaks and a letter released by James Comey for her 2016 election loss.
Meanwhile, James Comey will appear before Senate committee today where he is likely to be grilled on issues like Russian interference in the US elections and also why he decided to announce that the FBI was looking again at Clinton's emails just days before the election.
Donald Trump had slammed the FBI in February this year for leaks on possible contact between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.
"The FBI is totally unable to stop the national security "leakers" that have permeated our government for a long time. They can't even find the leakers within the FBI itself. Classified information is being given to media that could have a devastating effect on U.S. FIND NOW." Trump said.
