Ceasefire violations by India threaten stability, warns Pakistan army

The Pakistan Army has warned that renewed ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary (WB) by India pose a threat to the regional stability.

According to a report in The Dawn, the Pakistani Army made this observation on Wednesday during the monthly corps commanders’ conference at the General Headquarters which was presided over by Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Last year, both sides exchanged heavy fire along the LoC and WB and claimed to have caused massive casualties  on the other side.

After Uri attack, India also conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) which Pakistan denied.

On Tuesday, Pakistan claimed that a 25-year-old construction worker identified as Raja Ashfaq was killed due to Indian firing in Khuiratta Sector.

“Another innocent life lost to Indian irresponsible attitude,” Military spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor tweeted.

Pakistan summoned Indian deputy high commissioner J.P. Singh and handed over a demarche over the incident.
