In a veiled reference to India, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Raheel Sharif on said that ‘any misadventure by Islamabad’s adversary will meet a befitting response from the armed forces.’

“Pakistan can’t be coerced through any amount of malicious propaganda,” the Army Chief said during his visit to a newly developed Combat Reaction Training facility in the close vicinity of Lahore Garrison.

Sharif’s remark came in the wake of Indian Army’s surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control.

He asked all commanders to lay more emphasis on combat readiness and said the training in peacetime is the only guarantor of averting and winning a war if imposed.

"The highest state of vigil is being maintained along the LoC, working boundary and the international border," he said and expressed his complete satisfaction over operational preparedness of the Army.

"Pakistan cannot be coerced through any amount of malicious propaganda," he added.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) yesterday met Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry and briefed him about the surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army across the Line of Control.

According to official sources, the DGMO gave a detailed briefing to the Foreign Secretary on the situation on the LoC.

Pakistan has also enhanced its diplomatic efforts to bring the Indian "aggression" to the world's attention.
