In a latest development, Pakistan's High Commissioner in India, Abdul Basit will replace Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary as the new Foreign Secretary.
The decision comes as Chaudhary has been named Pakistan’s envoy in the United States, as per GeoTV.
An official announcement regarding the same is due for next week.
Basit was earlier chosen for the role few years back but some technical reasons came in way. He was later appointed as High Commissioner in New Delhi.
