Washington: The President of the United States of America (POTUS) is the elected head of State and head of government who leads the executive branch of the federal government. The POTUS is also the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces. But being Chief of the State in America is not all drone strikes and crisis meetings. Occasionally, the POTUS get to have a bit of fun.
At the eighth and final speech at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner, hosted by Barack Obama, the former Speaker of the House, John Boehner, who made news this week by likening Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, turned out to be the unexpected guest.
In a video (titled - Couch Commander) released on the occasion, Obama turned to his onetime bargaining rival in the Republican Congress to ask him to advice on how he should spend his post-presidential days outside of the White House. On this, Boehner said, "Yesterday, I had a beer at 11:30 in the morning. And you know McDonald's now serves breakfast all day long."
The clip also shows Obama going to the DMV, where an employee asks for his birth certificate. To this, he said, "Really?" After he hands his birth certificate over, she looks at it incredulously before he reassures her, "It's real."
The video, according to the White House, was also designed to get Americans to enroll for a health care insurance program, part of reforms that have been the cornerstone of his presidency.
