New Delhi: Women and children from various groups today called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. They tied Rakhi on the Prime Minister's wrist.
These included widows from Vrindavan and Varanasi, members from various women organizations including BJP Mahila Morcha, Delhi Sikh Pratinidhi Sabha; school children including specially-abled children; and women MPs from Gujarat.
Minister for Minority Affairs, Najma Heptulla greeted the Prime Minister and tied a Rakhi on his wrist.
Sadhvi Rithambara also greeted the Prime Minister and tied a Rakhi on his wrist.
The festival of Rakhi spreads harmony and celebrates brotherhood. Rakhi is a sacred thread of protection embellished with the affection of a sister for her brother. It symbolizes the inseparable bond of love between brothers and sisters. This gesture is not a mere ritual, but a powerful act that obligates everyone to ensure the safety and security of women.
