Murshidabad, Nov 2: A woman was swabbed with muriatic acid instead of the normal antiseptic solution after she delivered a still-born in a state-run hospital in Murshidabad district leading to burn injuries.
The incident took place at Lalbagh Hospital shortly after Shikha Bibi delivered the dead child on Tuesday.
The woman suffered burn injuries due to application of the acid which was used by mistake instead of the antiseptic solution as the colour of both the liquid was similar resulting in confusion.
Shikha was still in the hospital and an inquiry has been ordered into the case.
