Lucknow: Aparna Kumar has become the first lady IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh to have successfully scaled the highest mountain peak of European continent Mount Elbrus.
Kumar was the part of a 15 membered expedition team, which successfully scaled a height of 18,510 feet on August 4, which is considered to be insurmountable, an official spokesman said here.
The expedition team included members from US, UK, Australia and Bulgaria.
Kumar has received praise from the DGP and entire police family.
She had earlier successfully scaled Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mount Aconcagua in South America and hoisted Indian and Uttar Pradesh police's flag.
Meanwhile, Kumar had been felicitated with 'Rani Laxmibai Veerta Puruskar' by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in March this year.
