Kolkata: The West Bengal government on Friday released files related to freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The files were kept at Kolkata Police museum, city police commissioner Surajit Kar Purkayastha said on Friday.
The digitalized version of the 64 files were handed over to Bose's family members.
The files comprise 12,744 pages and are available to researchers and scholars.

The digitalized version of the 64 files were handed over to descendants of Netaji and mediapersons by Kolkata Police Commissioner S.K. Purkayastha after a small ceremony at the museum.
According to reports, out of the 64 police, 9 are crucial as they contain intelligence inputs which may throw some light on the fate of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose – the most important question being whether the founder of Indian National Army died in a plane crash in Taiwan in August 1945.
The secret files on Netaji may contain enough circumstantial evidence that he was alive till at least 1964, sources were quoted saying the Times of India.
The files revealed that the Intelligence Bureau had kept the relatives of Netaji under close surveillance between 1948 and 1968 when Jawaharlal Nehru was the Prime Minister.
"The revelation and info we are getting, it's really a shame that in independent India,SC Bose's family members were snooped upon," Netajee's grand nephew Chandra Bose told reporters.
"Surveillance was kept on them round the clock by16 officers of intelligence bureau,we want answers today," Bose added.
Bose also sought an inquiry as to why Cong Govt under instructions of Mr.Nehru,Bose family members were snooped upon.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on September 11 announced her government's decision to declassify 64 files on Bose, saying the mystery surrounding his disappearance needs to be put to rest.
"Still the mystery surrounding Netaji's disappearance continues to be unsolved. So whatever files we have, we will declassify them which may help in unravelling the mystery.

" All the 64 files that we have will be open for public. They will be kept at the city police archive," said Banerjee.
Recently, some files relating to Bose, declassified by the central government, had revealed that the Ministry of Home Affairs had snooped on at least two of Netaji's nephews.
