Uttarakhand: India TV reporters reach last village of Kedar valley, survivors saw nearly 2,500 dead bodies

When the India TV team reached Triyuginarayan village, it found an ex-serviceman Mohan Lal and a local village Jairam Panchpuri involved in rescuing people. They narrated how pilgrims fled Rambada, Gaurkund and Kedarnath, when the disastrous flash flood came. 

Both Mohan Lal and Jairam said, nearly 5,000 survivors crossed over from thi area, and most of them were local residents, and very few of them were pilgrims. 

Jairam described how Nepalese porters robbed pilgrims of their valuables during the great escape. 

He revealed how he was the first to climb up the peaks of Gaurkind and Rambada and noticed nearly 2,500 bodies lying in the hilly forest. 

The India TV team met jawans of 5 Sikh Regiment of Indian Army, engaged in the search for more unclaimed bodies. Some of the jawans confirmed there were a large number of bodies lying in the jungle. 

Rajender Singh Rawat, a resident of Toshi village, lost all his three sons, Ankush ,18, Anup, 17, and Anirudh, 15.  All the three youths used to go to Kedarnath to eke out a living, but now all of them are dead. 

Ram Kishan lost his son Anil, 19, while Vijay Rawat lost is son Vinod Rawat, 19, in the flash flood. They also narrated their woes and said that nobody from the administration has yet come to their village to provide them relief.
