Ghaziabad: A 28-year-old civil engineer working with the Uttarakhand government was yesterday found dead under mysterious circumstances in his hotel room in Kausambi area here, police said.
Dinesh Kumar, who was working with the state Public Works Department, had checked-in this morning, police said.
“At around 9 am, a woman came to the hotel and told the staff that he (Dinesh) was not picking up his phone.
The staff then dialled his room's phone, but he did not pick up,” a senior police officer said.
“After that, hotel staff unlocked Dinesh's room using master key and found him lying unconscious on bed. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead,” he said.
The doctors suspect Dinesh might have died of heart attack, the officer said, adding that the reason behind his visit to Ghaziabad is yet to be known.
“We are also interrogating the woman who had come to the hotel, and awaiting post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of death,” he added.
