Washington, Sep 8 : The White House has strongly condemned the terror attack in New Delhi that killed 11 people and said the US stands with its "close friend" India at this difficult time.
"We strongly condemn the attack this morning (Wednesday) in New Delhi and offer our deepest condolences to the Government of India and to all those who lost loved ones,"Tommy Vietor, spokesman of the National Security Council, told PTI.
"There is no cause that justifies the use of terror and violence against innocent civilians. India is a close friend and partner of the United States," the Obama administration official said.
Vietor said: "We stand with the Indian people at this difficult time, and offer our support to India's efforts to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice."
The blast outside Delhi High Court killed 11 perople and left 74 wounded.Earlier, the State Department condemned the incident and said the people of India have once again demonstrated remarkable resiliency and courage in the face of horrific violence.
"The United States condemns in the strongest terms this morning's deadly bombing outside the New Delhi High Court and extends its deepest condolences to those affected by these cowardly attacks," State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland said.
