Lucknow: The UP government on Thursday evening postponed the elections to UP Shia Central Waqf Board scheduled for today.
A government press release said, Minorities Welfare Minister Azam Khan has ordered the postponement of the election, saying this has been done in view of the current month of Ramzan.
New dates for elections will be announced soon. The dates will be between August 1 and 12, the press release said.
