Mathura: Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik has expressed concern over the law and order situation in the state and said that urgent steps were needed to be taken to check the incidents of rapes and murders.
"The law and order situation in the state is not upto the mark. Rapes, loots and murders are making daily headlines. These incidents needed to be controlled," Naik said while talking to reporters in Vatsalya Gram, Vrindavan.
Earlier today, the governor felicitated over two dozen philanthropists who were instrumental in successfully organizing an eye camp here.
He said that power supply in the state also needs improvement.
"There was communication gap between Chief Minister (Akhilesh Yadav) and Union Power Minister (Piyush Goyal). I made them sit across the table and hope that situation would improve," he stated.
The Governor said he had an interaction with the state chief minister where they sought to sort out issues like appointment of registrars, finance officers etc. pending with the state government.
"I have told Chief Minister to clear the matter related to education and finance pending with the government. Matters pending in my office would also be settled shortly," he said.
