Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Y Naik on Wednesday announces he has tested positive for COVID-19. As of now, the minister has has opted for home isolation. He took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "I underwent Covid-19 test today & it has turned out asymptomatically positive. My vitals are within normal limits and I have opted for home isolation. Those who have came in contact with me in the last few days are advised to get tested for themselves and take required precautions."
Naik is the fifth cabinet minister of Modi-government who had tested positive for coronavirus. Last week, the Union Minister of State in Ministry of Water Resources Arjun Ram Meghwal tested positive for COVID-19. He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah is undergoing treatment for coronavirus at Medanta Hospital in Haryana's Gurugram after testing positive for coronavirus.
